چکیده

Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) are emerging as an important opportunistic pathogen. Since clinical presentation of NTM infection is similar to tuberculosis (TB), patients present suspected TB or drug resistant TB. Presently in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP ) not being speciated, but there urgent need characterize so that appropriate treatment can be given many species multi-drug resistant. The purpose study was use Line Probe Assay (LPA) i.e. GenoType Mycobacterium CM/AS assay for rapid early reporting and know pattern at Rajasthan. Sputum samples from 5000 Multi Drug Resistant (MDRTB) suspect were processed cultured on Growth Indicator Tube (MGIT). Culture isolates found positive mycobacteria Ziehl Neelsen (ZN) staining negative by MPT64 antigen test then subjected Among sputum 1520 (30.4%) patient mycobacteria, among these 1488 (97.9%) (MTB) 32 (2.1%) NTM, them 56.2% intracellulare, 21.8% abscessus, 9.3% fortuitum, 1% simiae showed invalid results. Incidence very low M. intracellulare abscessus most commonly isolated species, easy, reliable giving valid results 91% cases 3-5 days getting growth.

Identification of Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria by Line Probe Assay and Determination of Drug Resistance Patterns of Isolates in Iranian Patients

The potentially pathogenic Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria (NTM) are emerging nowadays which result in pulmonary and non-pulmonary infections in human. This group of bacteria consists of at least 200 different species. While the pulmonary disease is the most common form of NTM infections, NTM can cause diffused infections as well as extrapulmonary infections in every organ, such as bone marrow, s...

Identification and Characterization of Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria Isolated from Tuberculosis Suspects in Southern-Central China

The incidence of non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM)-related death has increased globally recently. To obtain information of the species and characterization of pathogens involved in NTM pulmonary infection in Southern-central China, we identified 160 non-tuberculous infection cases from 3995 acid-fast bacilli (AFB)-positive tuberculous suspects. We then randomly selected 101 non-tuberculous pat...

Pulmonary Disease Caused by Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria

Non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) include more than 160 ubiquitous, environmental, acid-fast-staining bacterial species, some of which may cause disease in humans. Chronic pulmonary infection is the most common clinical manifestation. Although patients suffering from chronic lung diseases are particularly susceptible to NTM pulmonary disease, many affected patients have no apparent risk factor...
